Our Mercy High team is the standing champions for the 2001-2002 academic year.  We are hoping to repeat our performance this year.  The contest is played and taped at KRCR studios on Auditorium Drive in Redding.  Supporters are welcome to attend, but seating is limited.  Gary Gunter is the MC for the contest in which students are asked math, science, literature, history, and general questions.  The team meets Tuesdays at lunch in Mr. Blickenstaffs room to practice/test their knowledge.  The competition is a double elimination, if you lose twice your out.  Mercy has lost one game that it should have won and won the rest.  The winning team splits $12,000.00 and the second place team splits $8000.00.
